Kilmihil got off to a good start with points from Niall Reidy & Eamonn Ryan however a lapse in concentration in defence gave Kilrush a soft goal. After that the backs tightened up and limited Kilrush to a single point for the rest of the first half while up front the forwards scored 3, one each from Eamonn Ryan, Michael Darcy & Vincent Blake to leave the half time score at 0-5 to 1-1. The second half was eagerly contested and Kilrush drew level half way through the half however Kilmihil responded with points from Michael Darcy and Shane Egan. In the final minute Shane was again on target with a fisted point bringing the final score to 0-8 to 1-3.

The early exchanges were even however Kilmihil missed a number of scoring chances before Cooraclare got into their stride. The absence of goalkeeper Matthew Keane was soon exploited as Cooraclare scored two goals leaving the half time score at 2-4 to 0-4. The game was over as a contest as Cooraclare continued to punish the defence with four more goals to finish at 6-6 to 2-8. Scorers: Martin O'Leary 0-4 (3 frees), Colin Daly & David Killeen 1-0 each, Niall Pender 0-2 & 0-1 each from David Coughlan & Allyn Dalton.
